How is Charm different from social media?
Charm was designed to be different from traditional social media. It's a way to share everyday moments with close friends, without the parts of social apps that tend to be hard on teens.
What Charm doesn't have
There are no likes, follower counts, or public comments on Charm, so there's no popularity contest and nothing to compare. There's also no algorithmic feed: photos come from your teen's own friends, newest first, and when they run out there's nothing more to scroll.
Friends can comment on a photo, and those comments are only visible to the friends the photo was sent to — the same small group every time. Nothing on Charm is public.
What it has instead
A camera and a short list of friends. Your teen takes a photo, picks who receives it, and it appears on those friends' watches. It's designed to be opened for a few seconds at a time, not browsed.
Charm does have a streak, which counts the days in a row your teen has shared a photo and resets if they miss a day. Some teens enjoy keeping it going and others ignore it — nothing is lost with it except the number itself.
