How do blocking and reporting work?

If a friendship stops being fun, your teen has a few simple options — and none of them notify the other person.

Hiding, removing and blocking

Next to every friend in the friends list there are three options. Hide keeps the friendship but stops that person's photos from appearing — nothing is deleted, and it's easy to undo. Remove ends the friendship, though the other person can send a new request later. Block ends the friendship and prevents them from adding your teen again, until your teen chooses to unblock them.

In every case, the other person isn't told anything.

Reporting a photo

If your teen sees something that shouldn't be there, it can be reported directly from the photo itself. The report comes to us with the photo included, so there's nothing to describe, and the person who was reported doesn't find out. A real person reviews every report and removes anything that shouldn't be on Charm.
